Dear Church Partners;
A nightmarish situation in the Horn of Africa is getting worse by the hour. The United Nations calls it the world's worst humanitarian disaster. Kenya, Ethiopia and Somalia have been devastated by the worst drought in years in 60 years. Millions of desperate children and families are feeling its effects.
As Canadians watch the reports of the humanitarian needs, our congregations and communities will be looking for ways to respond. As a result, we want to ensure that you have the latest information as well as the tools to best respond.
Here are some ideas and resources to help you lead your church to respond:
PRAY

|
The children and families of Ethiopia, Kenya, and Somalia need our prayers as do the relief workers who are trying desperately to help. Prayer is a vital part of our comprehensive response and we invite you to partner with us in this way.
STAY INFORMED AND SHARE THE STORIES
Please visit the World Vision website often for regular updates: www.worldvision.ca. Currently, there are stories from children and families, interviews with staff in the field, and videos. Join us on YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter and encourage others to do the same:
DONATE
You can make a donation towards the Horn of Africa Drought fund. For every dollar individual Canadians contribute to this response by September 16 2011, the Government of Canada will match the donation.
Please post this link on your church website, facebook status or twitter feed.
